2023: Shaibu Receives Decampees From Opposition Party
……as APC Owan East Chair Defects to PDP

As the 2023 general elections fast approaches, the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC,has continued to suffer major electoral set-back as the Owan East APC Chairman has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The new PDP member, Zubera Shaba, alias ‘The Party’, was received by Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu,on behalf of Governor Godwin Obaseki, at the Government House, Benin City.

The Deputy Governor, while receiving the decampee, commended his capability as an authentic grassroots politician, who can be relied upon to deliver at any given time, without fear of betrayal.

According to Shaibu, “Edo North and Edo State as we move on,obviously will become a PDP State – not for any reason – because we have since discovered that the people in APC have shown to us that they are tyrants and tyrants don’t have a place in a democracy”.

“Democracy is all about the people and popular decisions governed by a collective idea and aspirations of the people, not of one man”.

“Unfortunately, some of them that are piloting the affairs of the opposition party now are the people who were at the forefront of deceiving us into believing that they are democrats. Everything is a gimmick because what they are doing now is opposite of what they claimed to be.”

” I’m happy that many of us are seeing what these people truly represent. We thought they were saints, but they took advantage of our innocence. We were yearning for a change, but today we know them”.

” I’m happy to hear from you that they suffocate you, that’s why they have led us to where we are today – insecurity, economic hardship and others. This is what you get when you have leaders who don’t take advice.”

“I’m happy that you have joined to fight for real democracy where we can assure you of freedom and express yourself to the fullest. I know your capacity and you are someone who’s not here and there. You are a man of integrity.”

“Yesterday, I received some APC members into PDP in Iraokhor, Etsako-Central Local Government, giving same reasons you just mentioned here.”

“APC in Edo State is a party in the state of anarchy and for us in PDP, our motto is clear, “let the people lead” PDP belongs to the people.”

Shaibu added by appealing to Nigerians to vote into power someone who will hit the ground running immediately he’s voted into office – Atiku Abubakar – stating that that’s the only man who has the experience of how things are done in Aso Rock.

Earlier, the decamped political figure in Owan East, “The Party” as fondly called stated his reason for joining the PDP as being a need to join a party that cares about its members and allows opportunities for its members.

“Today I’m very happy and overwhelmed to join the People Democratic Party, I’m the LGA party Chairman. I was acting under a ceremonial chairman.

” I was enslaved, I was caged by the leader of APC, Owan East, Alhaji Abdulganiu Lawani, everything about the party was being held by him and when I complained, I was accused of challenging the party authority and I decided to come to a place where I will be free, have my voice heard for the people and have freedom of speech in decision making.

The Department of State Security Service has said that the plot to Instal interim government was real

DSS noted that the plot was “by some key players” to install an interim government and stop Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being inaugurated as president.

A statement on Wednesday, by Peter Afunanya, the public relations officer of the secret police, said: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has identified some key players in the plot for an Interim Government in Nigeria.

“The Service considers the plot, being pursued by these entrenched interests, as not only an aberration but a mischievous way to set aside the constitution and undermine civil rule as well as plunge the country into an avoidable crisis.

“The illegality is totally unacceptable in a democracy and to the peace loving Nigerians. This is even more so that the machination is taking place after the peaceful conduct of the elections in most parts of the country.”
