Nasarawa Dep. Chief Whip Hon Alkali commences ward to ward campaign, woos electorates for APC candidates

The Deputy Chief Whip of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali (APC Lafia North) has urged the people of his constituency and Nigerians to vote all candidates of All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the forthcoming elections.

Hon Alkali, who is the Chairman House Committee on LG and Chieftaincy Affairs made the call when he commenced ward to ward campaign in Arikya, his electoral ward.

The lawmaker, advised Nigerians to sustain the ruling All Progressives Congress on power for more dividends of democracy and good governance.

” I want to solicit for your support and votes to enable me and all candidates of All Progressives Congress ( APC) to win February and March elections.

” This is for good governance and to enable you and others enjoy more dividends of democracy beyond 2023, ” he said

Hon Alkali said he was not resting in his bid to return to the hallow chambers of the State to enable him continue to provide quality representation for his people.

The lawmaker also enjoined the people of his constituency to unite, live in peace snd tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

it would be reported that his campaign train and that of the APC candidate for Lafia/Obi federal constituency, Hon Mohammed Al-Makura was in Arikya, the electoral ward of the state lawmaker to woo electorate.

Earlier, Hon Alkali’s campaign team was at the palace of the traditional ruler of Arikya,HRH Alh. Abbas Usman Baba for royal blessings where the Chairman House committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs at the state assembly appealed to the electorate to vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president, Engr Abdullahi Sule for Governor, Senator Umar Tanko Almakura for Nasarawa South senate, himself and all APC candidates.

Aside visiting villages that made up the Arikya electoral ward, the campaign train was also in Ugah, Fadama Bauna, Gwayaka among other villages that made up of Ashige electoral ward where, Alkali said if returned to the State Assembly, he will sustain his good works.

During the visit, Hon Alkali donated building and roofing materials to Gallo Community Primary School as the community in turn through the traditional ruler the Sa1arkin Gallo Alh Dahiru Sani turbaned Hon. Alkali with the traditional title of Barden Gallo.

FG Approves N24.2bn For Free Internet At Airports, Schools, Markets

THE Federal Government has approved free internet services worth N24.2 billion naira at 20 selected airports, 43 universities and six markets across the country.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami, disclosed this after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday

Pantami said that the airports were selected from the six geo-political zones.

“Certain intervention projects are going to be implemented by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Communications Commission of providing Internet in 20 selected airports in Nigeria and higher institutions of learning and also some markets to support micro small and medium enterprises.

“In each geopolitical zone, you have around three airports. In the South-West, we have Lagos and Ondo. For the South-East, we have Anambra and Enugu.

“For the South-South, we have Port Harcourt and Akwa Ibom. For the North-Central we have Abuja and Ilorin. In the North-West, we have Kano, Sokoto and Kebbi. For the North-East we have Yola, Maiduguri and Gombe.”

The minister said the markets and 43 institutions which include universities and polytechnics were also drawn from the six geopolitical zones, adding that it will ease e-learning in schools and also enhance the transition to a cashless economy.

DSS Confirms Plot To Install Interim Govt

The Department of State Security Service has said that the plot to Instal interim government was real

DSS noted that the plot was “by some key players” to install an interim government and stop Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being inaugurated as president.

A statement on Wednesday, by Peter Afunanya, the public relations officer of the secret police, said: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has identified some key players in the plot for an Interim Government in Nigeria.

“The Service considers the plot, being pursued by these entrenched interests, as not only an aberration but a mischievous way to set aside the constitution and undermine civil rule as well as plunge the country into an avoidable crisis.

“The illegality is totally unacceptable in a democracy and to the peace loving Nigerians. This is even more so that the machination is taking place after the peaceful conduct of the elections in most parts of the country.”
